About Me
Welcome to my world of urban exploration and artistic expression! I am Karen, a passionate urban explorer who thrives on uncovering the hidden gems of city life. With a keen eye for beauty in unexpected places, I transform these urban landscapes into captivating artwork that speaks to the soul.
Meet Karen
I am a graduate of the Queensland College of Art - Griffith University and an award-winning photographer. While I spent eight years as a newborn and family portrait photographer, my true passion and happy place lie in wandering the city streets, documenting the walls that often go unnoticed, and turning them into art.
Rodney's Role
My partner in life for over 30 years, Rodney, is a self-taught photographer who initially focused on sports photography. However, he quickly developed a keen eye for capturing my passion for urban exploration, and now follows patiently behind, offering his unique perspective and insights. You might even find a few sneaky images of his in the shop.
Our Journey
As urban explorers, we venture off the beaten path, delving into hidden backstreets and laneways. We immerse ourselves in the forgotten corners of the city, where the true character and soul of a place can be found. It is here that I find inspiration, capturing the essence of these forgotten spaces and transforming them into art that resonates with viewers.
Our Artwork
My artwork is a celebration of the beauty and stories that lie within the urban landscape. Through photography, I aim to evoke emotions, provoke thought, and inspire others to see the world around them in a different light. I believe that even the most ordinary walls have a story to tell, and I strive to give them a voice through my art.
Whether you are a fellow urban explorer, an art lover, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of the everyday, I invite you to join me on this journey. Explore with me as I navigate the hidden backstreets, capture the essence of forgotten corners, and transform the urban landscape into captivating artwork that speaks to the soul.
Thank you for visiting and supporting my artistic endeavors. I hope my work resonates with you as much as it does with me.
